The Great Anglesea Sleepover

When I lived in Australia, I helped revamp a small production company called Simple Souls Media. During the pandemic, we wanted to support a local region right outside Melbourne by creating a docu-series about the business & attractions of the region, with the goal to eventually increase tourism after the pandemic. As a producer, my role was to manage the relationship with the local tourism board and resort, lead communication with the crew members & talent, and manage the timelines and budgets.
SYNOPSIS:
The town of Anglesea, only a 90 minute drive from Melbourne CBD, has always been a popular holiday destination, and even a ‘home away from home’ for Victorians. However, like many communities, the region has been hit hard by the pandemic.
We are thrilled & honored to be able to partner with our friends at The Great Ocean Road Resort, to not just make a typical marketing video, but an emotionally-driven and entertaining 3-part web-series, called: “The Great Anglesea Sleepover.”
Our approach to resonate & inspire became clear: to team up with the amazing local businesses and special guests to showcase what the unique region of Anglesea has to offer, despite the hardships they faced during lockdowns.
This series follows two mates (Micky & Jacko) on their full-on 3-day adventure, everything from natural beauty to its local shops and food & drink, plus some surprises along the way, and of course a few laughs!
